The Fox 40 Pealess Whistle, like a harmonically tuned instrument, simultaneously produces three slightly different frequencies. Due to the out-of-phase superposition, the various frequencies alternately reinforce and cancel one another. The end result is a vibrato that is loud, piercing, and devoid of moving parts that could jam.
