The C8-Pro, like all commercial Reformers made by Align-Pilates, has our patent-pending Rapid Change (RC) spring bar, which allows for the fastest and easiest adjustment available.

A significant factor in the ride characteristics of a Reformer, which is selected by many Pilates professionals, is the quantity and kind of wheels. The quantity and type of wheels affect the machine's noise level, cross-loading capacity, resistance of the carriage, and amount of maintenance needed to operate at peak efficiency.

The eight "roller blade style" wheels on the C8-Pro are intended to provide a slightly more ice-glide ride than the four harder nylon wheels used in a four-wheel system, such as on the C2-Pro RC, where the wheels run in a matched aluminum profile. The C8-Pro is designed to provide a quieter, softer ride with a little more rolling resistance. It is up to the individual user(s) to decide which is better, but for many, this will be a major factor in selecting the machine they purchase. Many will likely favor the riding style they are more accustomed to or trained on!

The ease and speed of adjusting your Reformer can be drastically changed by the C8-Pro's Rapid Change spring bar, which is especially useful for those who teach group classes (this is an area where the C8-Pro truly shines). Unlike most standard spring bars, the spring bar can be easily adjusted with the springs attached, one hand, and one action—saving up to 12 extra actions!
