Reformer

A reformer looks like a bed frame with springs, a sliding carriage, ropes, and pulleys that roll back and forth on wheels within the frame. Springs provide options for different levels of resistance as the carriage is pushed or pulled along the frame. The bed-like frame, called the carriage, has shoulder blocks on it that prevent the practitioners from sliding off the end of the reformer as they pull or push the carriage. An adjustable bar called the Footbar is at the spring end of the Reformer Pilates, where you can place your feet or hands and move the carriage. The reformer has long straps with handles attached to the top end of the frame. The long straps can be pulled with legs or arms to move the carriage. Body weight and the resistance of the spring are the factors that make the carriage more or less difficult to move. Reformer parts are adjustable for differing body sizes and different levels of skill. Some reformers provide a large variety of Pilates movements that include jump boards, boxes, and more. Due to their versatility, exercises can be done in all kinds of variations. Reformers help people achieve their goals through coordinated movements.
